People often ask me what makes a successful business, and it may seem like there are a thousand different ways to answer this question, but in reality every successful business pays attention to the quality of its 3Ps. Purpose. People. And Products.

Your PURPOSE is the North Star that guides your actions. It’s what motivates you to work, it’s Simon Sinek’s Why. It’s the meaning that your people – your clients – find in their experience with your brand.

Secondly, your PEOPLE. Who are they? Business partners, employees, suppliers, volunteers, clients The list goes on. Every successful business owner prioritises healthy relationships with all these people. And by ‘healthy’, I mean fostering genuine, collaborative relationships that promote trust and thereby innovation, resilience and robust business performance.

Finally, Your PRODUCTS (or services) must answer the question: How can I make life more wonderful? Because if you’re not doing that, what is the point? Ideas are only worth sharing if they offer a function that improves quality of life for you and others, if they offer meaning that makes life more wonderful.

If you’re curious to explore your 3Ps and how you can use them to improve the way you run your business, get in touch.

Side note: ‘How’ you deliver value is strongly related to the People aspect of the 3Ps. After all, WE are the ones who create organisational culture, systems and processes, and ultimately value for our clients.
